Default How do I prevent this (burnout vid)

This was my first time on drag radials, I couldn't figure out why my car wouldn't stay still during the burnouts... it really cut them shorter than I would have liked. I finally got my hands on the video, and saw this. Ignore the music, this clip was taken from a compilation someone made:

does look like your tires were wet enough. need to spin them a few times in the water box. then creep out of it and do the burn out.

if you can avoid also having your back tires in the water...that helps too

Where you are in the water box is very important to a good burn out. I would also try a second gear burn out if you are not already doing it. It seems to me that the tires grip faster with a first gear burn out, but dont get hot enough to hook properly.

On certant track conditions that also happens to me.. What I do is do the burnout in 2nd gear and pop the clutch at a higher rpm and never had a problem again..

From the looks of the vid your tires are still burning even though you are dragging the back ones.. I always stay on the gas until the front tires hook up all the way before letting off when doing my burnouts so you could keep on the gas longer and just do a deeper burnout..

uuuuuhhh correct me if im wrong but "radials" should only get dry burnouts...

i thougth the purpose of water burn out was for slicks to expand and warm up... Hot radials tires dont hook up as good as cool ones.... Maybe im wrong with Drag radials but my experiece has always rendered me better times with cool radials..

My radials wouldn't do crap without a nice smokey 2nd gear burnout. 12psi, smokey 2nd gear wet burnout, started draging car let off. Worked every time for me. BFG's
