Default Buying Integ. Type R on ebay?

Any bad experiances?

I'm currently selling my '95 Supra since i can't afford the gas and the parts Plus i'm in Basic Law Enforcement training and all the damn officers around the school know my car now since they have been teaching me..and well.. They are ALL trying to pull me for something...

I have a guy trying to get a loan for my supra.. not too sure if he'll come threw or not but either way i'm looking to get a Integra Type R.. Figured it should be a bit better on gas and will drive a HELL of a lot better in the snow.. and its not going to be slow as ****.

Has anyone ran into any problems buying Type Rs from ebay? Since that seems to be my price range (whatever I sell the supra for is what I have to spend on the Type R)

Help

Thanks,
Nikki

just like buying any other car on ebay. you have no idea what youre getting yourself into.

i'd see if you know someone local who knows someone someone.. that way you have a better idea of whats what.

Don't have many people out here I know since I just moved.. Not to mention most of the people out here think slapping a Type R badge on the car makes it a Type R.

Hell they think my car is fast...

edit- and anyways.. I've owner my supra for 2 years and it hasn't been stolen.. If I were a theif i'd take that over a Type R

You don't seem to understand that ITR parts are compatable with $2000 POS Civics and such so the theft rate is astronomical.

Anyway, you don't have much to worry about out in Hillsborough. Raleigh or Charlotte would be a totally different story.

I don't quite understand the getting pulled over situation if you are going to be an officer. Are they just picking on the new guys or something.

Raleigh

P.s. Don't buy an ITR on ebay...

Yea don't think i'll have issues with my car being stolen.

And no they only pick on me.. I'm "barbie" to them.. And the fact that i'm a chic in a toyota supra doesn't help...and I got busted for not wearing my seat belt

Prices on here are a lot more than ebay And I want a stock one or pretty close to stock. I'll probably only have about $14k to spend.

jason had my car on ebay. i saw it and was like oh snap, i gotta have it.
goes to show that sometimes there are good cars on ebay.

edit: or that someone stole his pics and tried running a scam. i thought it was real, same price as was in autotrader.

lol yea there was one I wanted BAD
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

But couldn't sell my car in time

There are a few others i'm keeping my eye on.. and they are close enough I can drive there before paying.. all I'll be losing is time since I'll probably have to get a rental car untill I get another car anyways..
So far no one has been screwd though?

i saw that one too. but take into consideration, they have no feedback rating. doesnt it seem odd that that car sold for 14k something for an 01 R with 21,000 miles? it is worth so much more.

I am not saying it is a scam or anything, but it looks oddly alot like a car that was on ebay a couple months back in chicago.

so many scams have been run with people stealing autotrader pics and then posting them on ebay.
just be careful, buying from a dealer would be alot safer, and i would probably do that. but definately not a first time seller.

I bought my Type R from ebay by the way, no problem at all. Just make sure you go there to check out the car. good luck

I did? I don't think so, dude. Didn't I have it on autotrader.com? Either way, I was glad to see it go to somebody as **** as I am

Nikki-

Although you can find some good stuff on eBay, I'd suggest looking for something from the members in this forum. I've been here for awhile, and I haven't met too many "shady" folks. Most are straight shooters, and won't lead you wrong. There is a pretty good number for sale right now, and most of them are in top notch shape.

Oh, and buy a yellow one, because everyone knows they're faster

Good luck!

Try autotrader and search with ~100 miles of your zipcode. I live in an area where i didnt expect to find many ITRs but i searched and found one just 10 miles from where i lived and ended up buying it. Also, id personally recommend never buying one blind. Make sure you can go and talk to the person and inspect the car. It might even be a good idea to take a mechanic with you or even better, ask if you can have the car inspected by a trusted mechanic. Best of luck, youll love it.
