Default Car won't start. Just makes a click noise, and good voltage w/ battery

Got a 94 Teg. And damn my car won't start. Whenever I turn over my key all I hear is a single click. I have 3 volt meters on differnt things w/in my car and I know my battery is good. I am only guessing what it could be. Somtimes about 1 in 20 times of turning yhe key over the car will start up, but as soon as I shut the car off again I'm back to the same problem.. Would this be a starter? Would this be an altinator? I'm guessing its probably not the altinator because the battery isn't really ever low. It's just not cranking. Any help much apperciated.

Thanks

It could be the starter. Also check your battery terminals

Sounds like the starter
Reasons:
1. single click
2. starts on occassion
3. had same problem
4. your battery is fine
try giving ur starter a light tap with a hammer, it should start. go get a new starter takes about 20 mins to install

Definitely the starter motor

This will work. I did this on my girlfriends car yesterday. It had the same symptoms as yours. A couple of taps on the starter and boo yah away she goes.

Does your car have an alar/keyless entry? My car, to start on the engine, you have to press the keyless entry to unlock the doors. Once that's done, you can turn on the engine. And the funny thing is when I go to pump gas, after I pumped with the doors still unlock, I still have to press the unlock again to start the engine. I think this is due to the valco plug and lo-jack I have. Well that's what I think.

If it's making a clicking noise, it's most likely your starter.

most likely your starter. i had a very similiar problem happen to me. i used to drive to the post office, and my car never wanted to start when i got there. but after a while, it would eventually start. it ended up not being the starter was bad, but the connection is loose, so when i drove on bumpy roads, it would come lose and not start up until i played with it for a while.
