Hmmm, So they charge you for each car or each person? I was contemplating doing it with my car, Splitting it would help greatly.

Hmm price isnt too bad when split, seeing that it includes hotel rooms in upscale hotels and food

The entry fee for each vehicle taking part in the 2002 'GUMBALL 3000' rally is $8,565.95 USD

This fee is based upon 2 persons entering per vehicle, and includes staying at the most amazing hotels across America for the 5 nights of the rally. A deluxe double room is provided at all hotels. If individuals wish to have separate rooms, or even upgrade to a higher room standard, the entrant will incur all additional costs.

Dinner is provided each evening, along with breakfast every morning. If entrants wish to have additional persons in a car, an extra £2,500 (plus vat) must be paid per person.

Read through their Terms or agreement, Gumball does Not condone speeding etc etc etc. Doesnt mean that people wont though

PS I figured I might as well see what they say, So I registered

ENTRY FORM COMPLETED
Thank you for completing our online entry form. Hopefully, you will be accepted as a Gumballer. If so, we will contact you personally using the details you have provided us so we can progress with your entry.

However, with only 200 places available for this year's rally, many of you may face disapointment. If you do not hear from us immediately please be patient while we sort through the applications.

Meanwhile, keep an eye on the site for important announcements.

Please make a note of your gumball reference number:

Gumball rally is never been legal unless it's on the autobahn which has sections that now have speed limitors. But I'm sure if there is alot cars going then there be quite abit of police waiting for them. But I would figure some will be like here with either helicopters or small planes that detect speeders. Only bad thing besides being locked up you could be fined like crazy and former gumballers say the entrance fee is only the begining only a lucky fee get by scot free but 90% get cost atleast once or more...or spend time in jail or wreck there car.

To me it be only worth it overseas as getting speed tickets in other countries is normally is not as bad as here and alot of the times you can pay of some police or talk your way out of it depending on what country your in. In the last gumball race Car mag ran a Audi I believe and they got in trouble plenty of times and at the end they where not sure if it was really worth it..only they said if we had faster car and unlimited funds.
