Default 93 civic engine boggs out.

I have a 93 civic engine, and after i start it, when i drive away, when it shift into 2nd gear, the engine boggs out, and i have to let off the gas. but when i do that it runs fine, but if i hold it on the gas when it does that, it slows down really bad. what can i do about this?

How old are your spark plugs?

Sounds like you might need a tune up. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap/rotor, fuel filter, etc.

Good luck.

the plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, are only about 3 months old, but i got an engine swap about 1 and a half months ago so i dont know if thats the problem or not, the old engine was shot, it was a 94 vtec from another car, and now i have the 93 engine in my 95 civic, the 93 engine is still stock.

you need to provide more info like what type of engine, not to mention more detail then it bogs out. that could be a number of things.

yeah...i have the same problem with my civic. i have a d15b7 and my engine does that occasionally. what happens is that in first gear, when i cruise slowly off of 0 mph, it would sputter and feels like the fuel cuts off. the same thing happens when im 4th gear, but the engine is fine when im 2nd and 3rd. for me to stop the sputtering, i would step on the clutch and the car drives normally again. i have recently changed the spark plugs and that didnt solve the problem. i think that it can distributor cap and rotor or the spark plug wires. im thinking of doing a swap anyways so i dont really care about spending money to see what might be the solution.

my car is an auto so i dont have a clutch to step on. and all that stuff is fairly new, so i dont think any of it is going bad.

Sounds more like fuel, try filter first. See how many volts your fuel pump is getting. 11-12.4 i think. How much preasure you have running throuhg your fuel lines

Check your TPS.

DO you still have the old motor laying around? Or at least the IM and TB? If so swap the TPS from one to the other and see if that helps.

I don't have the old motor cause it broke down, and i dont have a cold air intake, i will check the fuel pump voltage, but it wasnt doin this when i got the car back, then near the end of the break in period it started doin it, and has been doin it ever since.
