Default EG hatch + B18C1 + another track day = .14 shaved off

Went back to the same track... a track probably .5 off of Maple Grove or MIR... about .3 off of Cecil County... to give some people an estimate of track conditions at Beaver Springs.

Ran a 14.44 @ 96.5 last time (kept bogging launching at 7500 rpm at 12.5 psi on M&H slicks). I mainly ran 14.44-14.67 that day.

RUN 1 (16 psi and 7600 rpm)..... 2.09 (60')....... 14.32 @ 93.36
RUN 3 (14 psi and 7000 rpm)..... 2.06 (60')....... 14.37 @ 96.33
RUN 5 (13 psi and 7000 rpm)..... 1.99 (60')....... 14.30 @ 93.11
RUN 6 (13 psi and 7500 rpm)..... 1.97 (60')....... 14.34 @ 95.23

Runs 2, 4, and 7 had a passenger riding along for the hell of it so they were a bit slower. But I'm slowly bringing the times down. Want to make a trip to Maple Grove and try for a 13.

Last time, the 60' were.... 2.14, 2.09, 2.17, 2.02, 2.17. I was launching at 7500 with 12.5 psi and it continued to bog down to about 5500 rpm. This time, I was probably spinning a bit much. Could have taken another psi off. Because once I launched... the tach stayed at about 7000 - 7200 all of first gear.

The slicks are 22" x 8" x 13"..... this time the track was slippery at the start and the last time it was pretty sticky. This time I probably could have gone maybe to 11.5 psi.... 10 would have just bogged out... so no... couldn't have used 10.

Thanks, John. I saw you pull the 13.5 up there. Need to run full boost though. But yeah... I'd like to find out when the IDRC Maple race is being rescheduled and go to that. I'll make it there sometime. If oyu ever want to go.. just call Derek and let him know. We'll all roll together.

Okay... I'm not here to exactly make excuses... but I am trying to be realistic in this response.

Possibilities:
1.) ENGINE - no two engines are created equally. No two respond in the same way. From my personal experience, my 1st gear does not rip as hard as another GSR hatch my friend had... 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pull similar to what his did. For instance... one guy I know has a virtually stock (H/E) OBD0 B16 in an EF Civic 4-door... ran a 15.0 on slicks... a virtually stock (H/straightpipe) OBD0 B16 in an EF CRX ran 14.1 on slicks. This is kindof turning to apples and oranges... I'll stop.

2.) TRACK - conditions vary every day... and at tracks that aren't so professional... the track won't be consistent day in day out. This is why I'd like to take a trip to Maple or even Cecil County.

3.) DRIVER - I shift the GSR at 7500... mine does not pull to 8000... but perhaps it does more than I think it does. I haven't tried shifting at 8k so I won't know unless I go back and try. I am still working on getting the launches down though.

I might not make it back to the 1/4 for a while (possibly two months) but I'll be going to my local 1/8 mile track. I'll keep you guys updated. Most of my 1/8 times are 9.11, 9.12 and so on. I'll get her down.

Yea, I just fixed my car that morning. I will get it on the dyno before the next time and make sure it is holding boost, not this low boost BS. LoL

I am probabyl going to south mountain soon. I am going to get it dynoed and put my comp cam back in there. I will call and see if you guys want to go.

I agree on what you are saying about your car, I think it runs rather well compared to what everyone else runs at the same track. If you know what I mean.

Ditto on that one.

Every track and condition is different.

<-- For Quickel's driving skills.

shifting at 8 would help.. taht is why your mph is so low.. when you shift higher in the rpmrange your next gear will start a little higher so thus, you're starting at a higher rpm... this could be it i'm guessing and here are my timeslips

See... that's what I don't understand... we've shifted my friends GSR hatch at 8000 or 8100 and I'm still pulling the same numbers basically. Well... whatever it is.. this Sunday I'll be shifting at 8000 in first then 7800 in second. It's only an 1/8 mile. I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Went to the 1/8 mile track today with some friends again. Two of which are in this thread. Congrats to John for running 8.47 And to D-rob for winning the class... in a car he wasn't supposed to drive.

Improved my 1/8 mile from the other track to .1 better for this track basically. At Beaver Springs my best 1/8 was 9.110.

Just put down..

1.931 (60')....... 9.099 @ 74.61
1.980 (60')....... 8.999 @ 75.67
1.920 (60')....... 9.050 @ 74.29 (I lifted pretty good in 3rd so I didn't break out)
1.980 (60')....... 9.072 @ 75.41 (Felt like a good run... but wasn't so great)

So this just proves track condition variations. Was easily in 1.9 60's all day... but at Beaver, struggled to get high 1.9s.

Oh well.

15 psi on the first run and 14 psi on the other three. Kept a decent spin/grip I guess. Felt like it was hooking hard compared to my other track days. 1.9s definately feel good. Wish I could get 1.8s.

EDIT: And I was shifting at 7900-8000 in first gear this time. And 7600 at the end of 2nd.

I can't believe he won the class. HAHA. Nice one. My car is going to be sporting a hole in the coupler for a while. I don't feel like fixing it.

And I just got a half built B16.. uh oh.

JDM GSR, ITR tranny and no exhaust probably would do that. LOL.

I figure my GSR puts down maybe 139 whp and 112 wtq... but that's just guessing. It'll hit the dyno someday... and John will make some money tuning.
