ok i've only heard about it and everybody i'ved talked to said it wasn't possible, but so far i'ved heard of a lot of ppl doing it, so to help me out a little is it possible for a car to shift without clutch and if it is possible what rpms match up with the syncros in a 92-95 civic?

it is possible but u only get a couple of chances if u **** up before ur tranny's gone.

u can ususally do it when you back off a little bit from WOT. take your car out for a spin and see where it slips outta gear out and thats your answer. i would never do this unless your sponsered by like a tranny shop or something where u can get as many as u want

its a perfection thing, if its not perfect say bye bye

 

i can shift without using the clutch but why would you. you wouldnt want to do it at WOT so just shift normally with the clutch.

 

I do it only when i've blown my clutches 4 times to be exact im not sure the rpm but i jus rev match and it slids right into the next gear without grinding.

 

I had to drive with no clutch when my slave cylinder leaked. But I wouldn't do it on a regular basis.

 

I used to do it from first to second and third to fourth on my stock motor/trans, there's no point in doing it, I just did it cuz I needed my clutch leg to hold the steering wheel while my hands were busy holding food.

 

Actually there is a point in doing it. Having to use the clutch allows the engine to fall in RPM's and possibly out of the optimal power band because you have to let off the gas. So if you can perfect whats called "Power Shifting" than you can just bang into gears saving time and RPM's as well as never taking your foot off the gas.

how would you take off from first then?

 

I took off from first by turing the car off putting it in 1st gear start it up with teh clutch depressed then give it some gas the diff will pull the car forward and when u get igniton u get going.

 

my friend broke the pivot stud on his clutch fork, so we had to drive that thing without the clutch, it was a pain in the *** to start out, it would release the clutch but not all the way. So yeah you can drive without clutch but your synchros get worn pretty good, because there is no way in hell that you will match it up perfect. Drove around like that for a month before he pulled the tranny. Delievering pizzas and ****.

 

Ahhh.. Why would you guys even think about shifting without using the clutch? That's just plain stupid.
