Default HELP-All the sudden car won't start??? pump primes, then silence...

I just drove my CRX 2 days ago, and everything was perfect. I went out today to drive it. I turned the key, let the pump prime as usual, turned all the way to crank it and ditto...dead silence. No clicking, starter did nothing. So I pulled the starter out, took it to get tested and it came up on the computer perfectly fine. It's like I am turnong the key and something in between that action and the starter is not connecting...but 2 days ago it was fine. Any help/info is greatly appreciated.

Everything works up until you try to crank it, no cel, all the dashlights work, clock, headlights all work. Battery is fine (Odyssey P680). I checked the fuses, none were blown. What else?

Relays working, the pump is priming. I have checked all of the grounds. Battery is grounded in the trunk and again at the transmission ground point. Anything else?

****, finally progress. I just went out and quadroople checked my grouns and they are all fine. I sit in the car and ponder a bit and noticed a little blue piece of something laying on the floor by my pedals. Looks kinda like candy. Anyway I get down there and look up under the dash but see nothing, I ran my hand all the way up my clutch and knocked off another piece of whatever the blue/gray candiesh thing was. I felt a switch above the clutch. I held the switch in with one hand and turned the key and the car crunk fine. Now my question is what was that broken piece that goes at the top of the pedal assembly? It pushed the button in while cranking, now its now its broken and not there at all? What do I need to do or does anyone know what its called?
