all my tranny oil leaked out of axle

Default all my tranny oil leaked out of axle

ok my friend has a dx tranny which has possible knocking sound. just went to change both axles and the entire tranny fluid leaked out. what could have cause this??

its supposed to leak out of the whole of the axle, if you put the axles back and its still leaking, your seal at the axle is bad, replace them

hmmm i have replaced the axles on my old turbo civic like 3x, and like tons of other friends axles , yes some fluid does come out of course, but never has all my tranny fluid leaked out when i replaced the axle until now on my friends car.

He's right it happends somtimes, just put the axel back and fill the tranny then check for leaks.

It usually only leaks a little. If it leaks alot, its because you overfilled the transmission. The transmission has another bolt. Try and lift the whole car and take that bolt of, if it leaks its because its overfilled and wait until any oil leaks out then when its leaking slowly or not leaking at all, put the bolt back on. The bottom bolt is to drain the oil, the upper bolt is to check how much fluid is in the car.

yeah man that what it was it was overfill, he told me he kinda od on the fluid, thankz for all the replies.
