tranny flush w/ axle change
Hey guys, I just flushed my tranny 2 weeks ago, and my passenger side axle decides to take a crap a couple days after the flush... is draining the tranny fluid necessary when replacing the passenger axle or can i just add more oil as necessary after replacing the axle? on a mildly optimistic view, at least both axles are going to be replaced at around the same time, (drivers side was done a month ago)
also, looking at the helms, it says to replace the set ring for the drivers side and passenger's side axles. the autozone axle didn't come with a set ring for the drivers side, but it does for the passengers side. is replacing the set ring for the drivers side necessary?

No need to drain the trans, jack the car up on the passenger side, change the axles and top off the fluid when you are done.
The drivers side axle doesnt have a ring on it.

Drivers side connects to the half-shaft. Passenger side goes directly into the trans.

The set ring might be on the half shaft. But the trans side of the driverside axle is female, half shaft a male. Your half shafts bangs your axle!!
