Default 10 newton meters sounds like a small amount for cam cover bolts

7 foot lbs seems a lil loose to me for the cam cover bolts. the service manual states to torque to that weight. What do u think?

the 8mm boltes that require a 10mm socket are about 7 ft/lbs. usually for those, they are "by feel" torque, meaning i just torque it with a 10mm wrench by feel. If you're talking about the cam cam bolts, the ones that require 12mm sockets, those are 19-20 ft/lbs and you do need a torque wrench for that.

they snap easily. don't over torque them. i always just tighten them as hard as i can with my left hand choking up on the ratchet (i'm right-handed).
