Default 12volts to 28volts... is it possible?

Alright I bought a military digital aircraft clock and it has to be powerd by 28volts and of korse our cars are only power 12volts. I was wondering if there's anything that I can buy or whatever to make this work ? Any info other than your skrewd and its not possible is appreciated -) haha Thanks guys !

get a big *** alternator...heh...it prob wont work either...maybe get u about 14 volts

Making all those conversions wastes energy. I think you can find a small power supply to convert 12&gt;28vdc. Since you're running a clock, you probably won't need more than an amp or two right?

its not actually that easy. you cannot just slap a transformer on there and expect it to work. you have to have a chopper circuit. basically, you need to get a unit that is made specifically for that. the DC voltage needs to be "chopped" so that it acts like AC. only AC will work with transformers. basically it. unless you have some electronics experience, i wouldn't bother building it from scratch.
