Default Oil Cooler...where to put it...01 Integra Type R

Hey Gang,

I am closing in on finishing my oil cooler install. I need help in finding a place up front to put it. It looks like I may have to pull the radiator or front bumper to get it installed....any thoughts?

I have the Mocal 24 row just to give you an idea of size.

Thanks for any info

Steve

VIR is closing in..........

I mounted mine to the front of my radiator support. You will need to at least remove the bumper to drill the holes.

yeah.. I installled on my friends type R...
took off the bumber cover..
attached it to the front of the radiator where the main air supply goes in..
Fits just right..
we also had to undo the top radiator support.. and some air condidition line holders for the install. Once it was in place and installed it all went back together perfect.

good luck have fun

I don't think I'd locate it there. A light crash could prove to be fatal.

Warren,

After this off-track escapade into the hill side, which tore my bumper apart, my oil cooler was fine.

If you are going to smack something hard enough to make it through your bumper and to your radiator support, the last thing you will be worrying about is your oil cooler.

I resemble that remark.

if you dont have a thermostatic sandwich adapter , you may want to keep it behind your rad so you dont overcool your oil, that thing sounds massive. If you removed ABS and stuff it can be mounted parallel to ground under the right side frame rail, that keeps it out of the way also, or fender well with a small fan - just throwing out other ideas so i dont repeat anyone else.
