sorry, but that's just not true... they are alot alike and are both mpfi harnesses, but not the same...
you will need to use your hf's engine harness and put it on the zc engine.... i was told the hf and si harnesses were the same when i did my first swap and had alot of problems because of it until i just changed back to the hf.... good luck, and if you have any questions you can feel free to e-mail me, i've done this 3 times...

get rid of the hf tranny for sure....either go with a si or a zc. You then have to change the hubs but its worth it.
Also if you go with a zc you need different axles. Sometime it will come with an intermediate shaft otherwise you will need that and for the axles get them from a 90-93 integra, cause they are equal length.

the wiring in the main plug is completely different, and there is some of the stuff needed for the emissions in the hf that isn't in the si
you could make it work, but you would have to rewire the plug... just using the hf harness is a whole lot easier

Rewiring the plug is not a problem, i have a HF but the old harness is in pieces and all i been findin is the si harness on ebay, so thanks for the diagram. Thats for the main plug on the passenger side close to the main fuse box under the hood right?, the big fat round one.

Hey you sure that things correct?, i was lookin and everything on my plug next to the injector resistor box is right except for 7 and 8, the light blue is in the red's spot, and the red is in the light blue's spot, i find that kinda strange unless it has something to do with the 88/89 being differen't from the 90/91 models. ?
If you guy would read my sign you wouldnt have tell me to get a different tranny
88 hf with a dx motor si tranny and si manifold, dx brakes, gsr mc, gsr brake booster, and working on dohc zc boosted. Winter project.

take the 2 wires that would normally be going to the si dizzy and extend them to the sensor, i think one's blue and one's blue with a stripe, not positive though
that's for the plug by the resistor box by the way

the picture that pyro posted is for 88 HF (i know, because i made the picture right from my 88 HF harness) the 89-91 HFs are a little different - if you are swapping in a DOHC ZC, there are only 6 wires in the connector that are used - the 4 injector wires (red, brown, yellow and light blue), the black/yellow power wire and the yellow/black which is the injector resistor box power - on the 88 HF chassis harness, the yellow injector wire is at location 4 - the other yellow at location 3 is the HF EGR lift sensor, which isn't used on the ZC - the 88 HF chassis harness has a white/yellow wire for the power instead of the black/yellow on the Si (same thing, just different color) - the dark blue wire in the Si connector location 6 is for the fast idle control valve on 89-91 Si (not on 88 and this is why 88 Si has square 6-wire connector at this location) and is also not needed for the ZC - i have never tried it, but you may be able to repin the Si engine harness to match the 88 HF chassis harness - you may need to also check the connector at the passenger side at the firewall to make sure all the wires match there - at the distributor, you need to replace the round 7-wire connector on the Si/HF engine harness with a square 5-wire connector from the DOHC ZC harness or from a DX - match wire colors on both sides of the connector - you will have 2 wires left over, one blue/green and one blue/yellow - extend these wires and connect them to the green 2-wire connector on the Cylinder Position Sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft, again matching wire colors on both sides of the connector - if you are using the engine harness that comes on the ZC, it will have a square 6-wire connector at the driver's side firewall and not round 8-wire - DOHC ZC engine harness will plug right into 88 Si chassis harness without changing anything
