unless you are doin' the 1/4 at the track....

i am a straight line junkie. so do you think that it would hold the seven pounds and the shot on the stock internals without alot of maintaince or what?

It may not even hold five psi if it isn't tuned correctly. It is more of how much power the engine will make reliably than a "psi" number. The tuning is the critical component of the equation. If the tuning is crap the engine will not make good power and will probably lead to internal problems...cracked sleeve, broken piston ringlands, etc.

i would probably stay 5psi on stock b16, for reliability. if you tune it right you can get more psi but it will wear quicker. and adding some spray on top might kill ya : P

I am not trying to discourage you from turboing it just trying to tell you that you need a plan before diving in head first. First, figure out what your goals are. How much power do you want to make? What will the car be used for?? etc. Then go from there.

Well if it were my car and money was insignificant I would build the engine...sleeved, forged pistons and rods, arp studs, etc.

The I would build a kit to boost enough to make around 300-400 hp and have the car tuned. You can make 300+hp on a stock block but building the block and having a good tune are insurance against premature failure.

$3000 for a fully built and sleeved block and $800 for a HMT (homemadeturbo) setup, hehehe. Or you could just upgrade the pistons and rods, because the stock sleeves can actually hold a lot of power, just the stock pistons are weak.
