Default Best year for a CRX?

With CRXPO starting today, I was thinking back on all the CRXs I've owned over the years (about 10), and driven (too many to count). I think I've come to the conclusion that the 88 is my prefered year, which is yours?

For me there are to many factors to pick a best year. They are all good in there own right.

I agree they are all good, but you've got to have one favorite... I prefer the 88 because its a 2nd gen, no door mounted seat belts, lightest 2nd gen, and the JDM style rear LCA's.

My 88 dx, although a piece of ****, never did me wrong. I've never driven my own Si.

I went from a 91 dx auto, bought a 90 si shell and got rid of it, then a 88 dx now a 90 dx auto-> 5speed. I think the best model has to be the 88' Si with 90-91 tailights on 90-91 Si rims.

90 CRX Si.
Better tail lights.
Rear disc brakes stock.
A tad bit of more power.

I LOVE rex's in general, but still, 88 HF is my weapon of choice, i love the fact that they are lightest (of the second gens),fewer people have them, the only one that came in superior blue 88-89, type r style lca's, and is just plain dope....

and the nasty blue interior has grown on me...

I prefer 88's but I wouldn't mind mixing years together to make my own.

the door mounted belts are a downnside, but i like 90-91's. i like the body much better, along with the wheels. i also like the seats and gauge cluster mentioned above. rear disks are a plus with the si's. i also like feeling safer with side impact beams

It's a really a hard choice. I say the best ones are the '88 and the '91. The 88s were the lightest and have the passive rear wheel steering but the '91 has a smoother stock exterior and seems to have a more interchangeable selection of parts.

I voted for '88 though. Love the seatbelts in the pillar and not in the door.

Drum.
Only 90-91 SI had discs.

I like the 88 cuz it's light, has that door pocket, rear suspension, lighter seats (i weighed them), pillar mounted seatbelts and the b pillar trim is thinner and not all fat/wide like on the later models. I could live without the round gauge cluster, later taillights, red stitched seats (which weigh more...perhaps just the pan?), rear discs, etc. These are all small subjective details that could easily be added on to an 88 if the owner wished.
