Default cam question

ok so I've ordered my skunk 2 stage 2 cams for my R. The rest of the engine is stock. I'm debating gettin the cam gears too. Is this a must? How mcuh more power will I realistically get out of advancing or retarding the time. I just don't want to spend more money than I have to.

thx fellas

get on a dyno and find out. Toooo many variables in this question, and don't try to narrow it down or ask for an estimate. Bring your car to a shop that has a qualified tuner and proper equipment and then let us know. (if you want)

I agree with what was said above. Take it to a tuner and let us know.

Just to give you a little incentive, the most I have seen anyone get from advancing the timing on a stock block ITR was 10whp and 7 ft/lbs. Keep in mind that he had engine management. Hondata is a must with skst2 cams. Also consider some RC310 injectors.

ya, I've been told my stock fuel system won't cut it. Do I need a fuel pressure reg and and a fuel rail as well or can I just get away with a better pump and better injectors?

o and the guy who i'm buying off is offering me some sk2 retainers and dual vavle springs. Are these that much better than stock? I suppose I might be able to rev a litte higher with better srpings.

Upgraded valve train is a MUST with the skunk2 Stage 2 cams.

Get the valve train he is offering.

What header are you going to run with your setup?
