Default Radar Detector Goes Off When I Use the Horn

I have my detector hardwired to the cigarette lighter circuit. Just noticed that when I blow the horn the radar detector goes nuts like it's detecting something. I know it's a wiring problem that I created, but was wondering if anyone has a clue as to why this might be happening?

lol thats funny. Well either your horn is giving off some sort of radar itself, or interference on the power. Try relocating your power someplace stronger and see if it goes away. If you have access to a small inline noise filter, (you can find it on some headunits) use this and see if it helps.

thanks... I do have a bunch of inline filters from back in the day when car stereos didn't have them built in.. I'll give it a try.

thanks for the idea.
