heya basically what it says. Ihave a eg recently with a b series, and i have another civic thats d series with a nice short shifter on it. Will the shifter fit both? im not exactly sure what short shifter is on the d series but yea.
You can modify a B series shifter to fit in the D series linkage, but the other way around you'd need a welder. To fit the B shifter into the D linkage, you have to trim material off the bottom where the bushing fits in. The D shifter would be too small to go into the B linkage unless you welded that material onto the shifter, or modified the D linkage to work with the B tranny. IMO, easier to get a new one.

what are you talking about? .....he asked if a shifter from a d series would work on b series. Not d series linkage on a b series tranny. this guy doesnt know what he is talking about........the answer to your question is yes, you can use the shifter on the that b series shift linkage.

washers for what. cant i just unbolt the small metal piece that is already attached to the shifter and bolt it into my b series linkage? It's like a little plate, think there are 2 bolts that attach it to the support linkage

I don't know what I'm talking about?? Maybe if you had read and UNDERSTOOD my post, you would know that I said he'd have to modify a D series linkage to work on his B series tranny if he wanted to use the D series shifter. It is written in plain, understandable English with good grammer and punctuation. Why you didn't understand that, I don't know.
Sure, you can slap the D series shifter on the B series linkage if you want that **** to be loose and slide from side to side. Oh, yeah... and FYI, I know this because I've already tried it, not heard of some guy that my friend knows who did it.
