the person purchasing my ITR from out of state said that his bank needs a photocopy of my title faxed to them so that they can get the loan. front and back.

I must say that i have never heard of this, and wanted to check with other people across the country to see if this is a common or normal request.

i honestly dont know if that is fishy or not.

a photocopied version of ur title will say like VOID or something or COPY, somethign liek that. atleast the washington ones do.

They all should, legal documents mang! Its some pimpy ink that goes beserk against light.

I would ask for his bank's phone number and call them directly. Even if it's a normal request, I would still want to verify that this important document is going to the right place.

 

YES they need it and its normal.
I had to do it numerous times, including when I sold mine

 

Sounds normal. If the loan is for the full amount then they might hold the title til the caR is paid off.

 

They will deff hold the title.
BUt even if its partial, I think they will hold it reguardless if its an auto loan.
The only time I got to keep my titles was when i took out personal loans to pick up a car.

As an Indiana resident I traveled to Chicago area to pick my ARRR a few weeks ago. My credit union in Indiana requested a faxed copy of the front of the title before the loan application could be processed. Good luck with the caR and no worries about the title.

 

its a normal request. i've been looking at R's for about a month now and i've asked a few people for copys of titles. i know it seems a little fishy, but the idea of giving them the banks phone number is a good idea, i'll do that from now on.
