Default replacing the headgasket without remove the crank gear / lower plastic

I dont need to replace my timing belt, but I do need to replace my head gasket. How can i loosen the timing belt without having to remove all that crap(crank gear/ lower plastic cover). How can I keep the crank from turning while swapping the headgasket?
