valve cover bolt.. sigh
well last weekend when i completed my valve adjustment, we replaced the gasket and were tightening up the valve cover. i didnt have a torque wrench so we had to just guess how tight the bolts went. well the bolts just kept on turning, so i kept on tightening. heh. the one bolt that is all the way on the left under the spark plug cover that is visible if you follow the wires stripped off. there is part of the stud stuck inside the bolt. the stud is barely even sticking up through the cover now. i opened up my hood for the first time in a week yesterday when i was advancing my timing. there is oil everywhere. what do i have to do to fix it?
First, get a new bolt from a dealer, and nut... Its just a stud that unscrews from the head, I did the same thing about a year ago..
Once you get the parts, take the valve cover back off, and use a DEEP 12mm to unscrew the stud you broke out, and put the other back in.. its that simple

Yeah, I had the same thing happen, I think its fairly common. Oh, be sure and get the bolt from the dealer, it will be expensive, but in this case, it'd be the safer option.
i ******* did it again when replacing my broken one. i broke a different one. jesus ******* christ.
my white intake is now brown from the oil splatter.

I don't have my Helm's manual in front of me, but these are only supposed to be torqued to i think it was 6 or 12 lbs max. You really won't be able to feel it, go get yourself a $50 torque wrench.
