need help with speakers
I just install a new pair of rockford speakers into my civic, and this is my first time installing speakers. So far everything is sounding good but if i turn up the bass alittle i can hear a poping or cracking noise. is it my speakers cant handle the bass or is the wiring wrong. Any tips in fixing this would be of great help.
I tired to make all the "+" with the "+" thingly but all my wires are different colors
speakers = Rockford T152C 2-way somthing
thx in advance

On the site it tells you what color the speaker wires are and if it's a pos. (+) or a neg. (-), eg. on the very first one 86-1997/98 the wire at the top is right rear sp (+) it is red with a yellow stripe, at the right rear speaker you will find 2 wires one is red with yellow stripe and one with brown with white stripe, the red is (+) and the brown is (-).
There are basic rules for mounting speakers, one very important one is that the speaker is mounted so there is an airtight seal around the speaker, if it's not airtight you will get a "popping" sound when volume is turned up, more so when there is lots of bass. The other thing that may be happening is, you are driving the amp into clipping, easy to do if the amp is low watts, like the one in the HU itself.

The HU may be underpowered for what he wants, or the HU may not have enough power to drive the speakers to there full potential, but "ALL HU's" are not underpowered, they may be underpowered for what someone wants.
I have an Alpine HU running 4 Eclipse 2way 6.5" speakers in my 94 teg, and even though the speakers can handle more power then my HU puts out, it is more then enough for me.

You want sub bass coming from your subs, the amount of bass you get out of a "speaker" will depend on a lot of things, frequency response of the speaker, how the speaker is mounted are but 2 of them, and power is another, it takes more "power" to make bass then it does to make highs.
In my system, Alpine HU and 4x6.5" speakers, there is more then enough "bass" for me, in fact, when I have demoed the system, people have accused me of having a hidden sub and amp, I do not, I did spend a lot of time and energy installing my speakers.

lol im not trying to get crazy bass from my speakers it just that the bass is sound bad</TD></TR></TABLE> Another thing I would change, [if it hasn't already] the HU may not be getting enough power, if the yellow wire , [constant power] is connected to the oem radio harnesses white/yellow or blue, oem constant power, then I would run a fused 12 or 10 gage wire from the batt. to the yellow wire of the HU, and just cap off the oem constant power, it was not designed to supply more then 7.5A max, that is why there is only a 7.5A fuse in the engine bay fuse box for that line.
