Default Greddy kit will not boost in 1st gear

I just installed the greddy kit on my 93 civic and it will not boost in first gear. It boost fine in 2nd but it will not boost in first. I don't even hear the turbo spooling in first. Is this normal or do you think something is wrong? I have a drag size spearco intercooler, do you think that could be why w/ pressure drop? Let me know what you think. Thanks alot.

maybe there isn't enough load on the motor? i have the greddy kit on my integra, and it does boost in first gear (enough to spin the hell out of my tires), but i comes in later and not as much as 2nd gear...

my car doesn't really peak out but it does boost a little (about 2-3 psi under full throttle in 1st)...that is a good thing because it is called traction control. dual stage like control but not. it is already bad enough with a little boost and i wouldn't want it to boost a lot in 1st anyway. with dual stage controllers, 1-2 gears are supposed to be set low anyway. 3rd gear is usually where you want the full boost...depends on your power band though. you'll want more boost in the lower gears. i just know my gsr greddy kit hardly boosts in 1st and i also have the larger greddy i/c.

So is this normal? Because I don't see any boost whatsoever in first. But i hear people saying that in first the greddy kit produces alot of wheelspin. I don't get any wheelspin in any gear.
thanks for your help

Most likely the combination of the huge IC (pressure drop) and the engine speed surpasses the turbo in first gear (creates no load on the engine to create boost). I couldn't really pinpoint the problem unless I drove/rode in it. I do know that a friend of mine had the GReddy kit on his 92 Si and it lost all traction in first gear, but he has a tiny IC...

Ok i figured out that my bov was loose and a hose was loose. Now i'm getting about 3psi in first. I guess this is normal w/ the big intercooler. Thanks for your help.
Troy
BTW: How do i adjust the bov so that theres no leak in idle. I don't have the boost/vac guage just boost. Thanks
