i have stopped throwing 20 and the others, but now its throwing a seemingly noexistent code 78.

i know i'm not reading it wrong. it pulses slowly 7 times then imeadiatly it pulses 8 more time, quickly.

 

Reset the ECU? Come back on immediately before you even start the car?

 

i reset the ecu after seeing 78 and after idling the car and playing with the throttle i got 78 again. i reset the ecu and did the same thing only now i got 20. electronic load detector again. what physical sensor does this apply to? where is it located on the motor?

omg this is actually happening :/ all the sensors are plugged in according to cord length and location off of the main harness.

i'm using a p28 ecu, 99 civic with an b18a1 + b16head

 

 

found a bad ground, fixed it up. car starts up great and idles great, but i'm still throwing CEL 78. no one has any info relating to this myserious CEL?

 

i'm still dropping 78, and now it just threw 68. I cant seem to find a corresponding error for these codes.

the car runs and idles untill i stab the throttle, or take it past 1/2way or so. then bog+hesitation+cel.

edit-up, there is 78 again. every time i rev my car from idle or whatnot 78 pops.


when i slowly give it some gas then get off it drops quickly then slows down (drops slower) and almost has this second or two of ghost throttle before it resumes its drop back to idle. it has always done this, even when it was boosted and running great before. after a pull you could see very clearly on my datalogging that right when TPS went from 100 to 0 the afr would go from 11.5 to 20 to 10 for a second or two then back to the sensors minimum fuel reading.

if the cel pops the car wont rev smoothly. the car doesn't rev smoothly, is this why i'm popping the cel? It feels like there is misfire or something.

this nonexistant code 78 wont stop popping. its not random, it has popped like 10 consecutive times, and it will do it again.

 

right inbetween #2 and #3 on the back of the block, closest to #2, right at the surface of the deck, there is a sensor. it is not connected to anything but the block, it is black, and it has one pin. i'm assuming its the Knock sensor.

on the b18a1, on the blocked off coolant passage (the one for a block heater) on the same side, back of the block closest to #2, there is a sensor. On the b18a1 there is a sensor that fills the spot instead of that large allen plug. could the fact that my knock sensor is plugged into that be my problem, even though i have the knock sensor disabled in uberdata?
