Default F22A - H22a conversion - Crank Pulley? ECU?

Couldn't find anything on this already so i'll ask.

I pretty much bought a bare H22a motor to fit to my 92 Prelude S. I need to know if the crank pulley for my f22a will work with the h22a because i want to keep all my accesories. (I'm cheap) Also...i heard and read also that i should be able to wire VTEC to my P12 ECU. Is this true? Thanks guys your help is much appreciated. ALSO...I eventually am going to buy the h22a tranny but i THINK i can use my f22a tranny....is this ALSO true. Going for the cheaperst conversion ever....WOO!!!!!! Shinobi Out!

From what I remember...F22 tranny has longass gearing. I think you can use it though.
You could make VTEC work with a window switch, but that's ghetto and I wouldn't advise it.

you know if you use the H22 pulley, you can keep all your accessories.
i don't know if the pulleys are different, but i know that there are sensors in the H22 pulley for the sensors in the oil pump (OBD2) that need to see a signal at the ecu.
you can wire vtec through an msd rpm activated switch, but yes, it is ghetto-fab, and not recommended.
and yes, the F tranny will work, but don't expect to get as much out of your car until you get the H trans. the gearing is way off.

cheap won't last long bro, and H22 don't take kindly to not being put together right. take a look around and do some searching, you'll find you can do a swap fairly cheaply without sacrificing quality and proper assembly.

just my $0.02

you can keep your accesories with the H22A pulley, you can keep the transmission. At least get a P13.

Yep, you're better off getting a p13 ecu and wiring vtec to that.

Either that or get a p28 and run Hondata/Uberdata

Also...another question (wow). Will the plugs from my P12 fit into the P13...i cant seem to find a comparison chart. I have my Haynes book at home so i havent really looked there yet but i figured one of you might know. No big deal if i have to cut some wires though.

That RPM **** you guys were speakin of is FUGGIN Ghettttooooooooo. Wow...I'd kill myself if i had to do that.

UGH guys, cmon

Use your f22 pulley, thats the best way to keep your accesories right as all your belts will match up and so will your ribs.

You need the P13 or p28chipped, etc... Notice, if it is not the p13 it needs to be chipped with a prelude map. Sadly, you could run the p12, but it just wouldnt run very well or long. Guys, the 135 hp beast doesnt have the same injectors or fuel curves... But, who cares if your willing to wire it to your window switch ...

The f22a1 transmission will bolt up fine and run fine. As stated by the only guy with much sense, the gearing sucks for getting up and going. Its long and you will drop out of vtec between shifts for a long time. It will put a damper on your acceleration, but you can expect a increased top speed(capable, but hard to access) and slightly better gas mileage(1-2mpg as throttle and speed have more of an affect than rpm does(out of vtec of course) on gas consumption)

Lastly, plugs and wires.... Replace them... You will regret that mistake big time. I wont even elaborate why, Ill just smile.....

Holy *****,

Thanks man much appreciated...you just saved me alot of time...and uhhh some money. I like the yes or no answers. Until i get the $ for the h22a trans...i'll just get the lightned flywheel and new clutch n shiii. Now getting this ECU for under $150 is what im lookin for. Anyyyyyy body got a P13 Manual? Shinobi needs one!
