Lumen (lm) state the quality of a light source. Regarding the KAIXEN HID that we sell the lumen is as follows: 4500K/3200lm, 6000K/3000lm, 6500K/2800lm and 8500K/2200lm. A premium halogen bulb has 3200K/1200lm. One has to pay in effect what you gain in beauty in 8500K. Kelvin (K) state themperature of the color. Candela state the brightness of a light.

The kit takes about 10-15 minutes to install!!! It's all plug and play!
.

this is straight from the kaixen site

"Technical innovation, an enthusiastic stab, quality control, god and safe warranty and with a nice price ensure that KAIXEN IS THE HID KING ON THE MARKET!

Market info: On the market you will find several HID brands that comes with various quality and pricing. From China manufactured low quality HID to well known brands like Hella and Philips. KAIXEN HID is made essentially by German components, as well as the HID machines.

We have also sold Philips and Hella HID (until August 2004) and some low price HID (= low quality) from China, but since April 2004 we are totaly in for the KAIXEN HID, which we now are marketing solely. We assert with our experience that the quality is fully comparable with the above mentioned well known brand names, and that the price difference 37-50% merely is just related to brand (compared with KAIXEN). Therefore we dare to give you 1 year warranty even on the burners (no one else does it = consumption product) although they will last for minimum 5 years when using them for 1hr/day."

Here's some pictures of the 8,500k blue on my scion xB!

ATTN: Honda-Tech MEMBERS

There have been many concerns about what a “plug and play” HID kit resembles and whether or not the Kaixen kit is actually one of them. Words can only claim whether or not the kit follows this title of “plug and play” until one actually receives the part and realizes for themselves. Furthermore, with this post I will make an attempt to legitimize that the Kaixen kit is what it has been claimed to be, “a plug and play” kit.
From reading past posts on this thread, it has come to everyone’s attention that two separate parties who have attempted to install a Kaixen kit on a CRX and a 05 Subaru WRX have come short to believe that it is actually a plug and play kit. The 88-91 Honda CRX uses a 9006 bulb type and an 05 Subaru WRX uses a 9005 bulb type for high beam. So lets begin with what everyone here is concerned with first, the 9006!

If anyone chooses to purchase a Kaixen HID kit, this is what you will receive:
x2 ballasts w/ igniters
x2 bulbs with all connectors
x2 reverse polarity plugs
x2 20A replacement fuses
x2 short zip ties
x2 long zip ties
x2 double sided sticky pads
x1 installation manual

Above is a diagram of an actual kit for a 9006 bulb type. To the bottom left is what the factory wiring harness should resemble. Under normal circumstances, you would insert any halogen bulb into the wiring harness and then twist and lock the bulb into the factory headlight. With the Kaixen kit, you simply insert the blue connector into the factory wiring harness and then twist and lock the hid bulb (pictured on the bottom right). There are three more plugs you need to connect: the first plug (pictured on the left center), is where the power from the factory’s wiring harness is processed to the ballast. Once the power is processed within the ballast, it is then submitted to the igniter which then sends a positive and a negative signal to the hid bulb. The connectors are designated male and female so it will be virtually impossible to mix up. The connector on left center is a different type so it will also be virtually impossible to plug it into those connectors on the right center.

Ok, so now we’re rolling. Everything seems to look fine, but will it actually work? Does the wiring harness looks like this after you insert the blue plug from the Kaixen kit? Well, if you answered yes, then most people can clearly figure out why. Most electrical devices will not work when the negative is plugged into the positive and vice-a-versa. So we must fix it now. Depending on the bulb type you have for your car and when the car was manufactured, your wiring harness may differ from the way Kaixen kit will comes manufactured from the factory. But don’t worry guys, it’s a simple fix. All kits now come with the wires unplugged from the blue plug. So the easiest way to install the kit is frist insert the blue plug to the factory wiring harness and then match up the red wire with the red wire and black wire with the black and insert!

In case your kit arrives with the wires connected to the blue plug, it’s a simple mechanism that the blue plug has to lock in the wires. All you need is an X-acto type knife type blade. I used an X-acto type knife because it’s extremely slim, but yet strudy. You simply need to slide the locking mechanism inside of the blue plug inwards while simultaneously pulling the wire out. Once you have accomplished this for both sides, re-insert the correct color the correct side and you’re back in business. I talked to the company who warrantees these kits in the US and they advised me that they will still warranty the kit if consumers attempt this process themselves. However, if the kit is deemed defective due to a deformation directly as a result of this process taken by the consumer then the warranty becomes voided. It is in the best interest of the consumer to send the kit back and to its vendor and have it done by professional technicians. (note: this only applies to 9005 and 9006 kits)

Once this step has been taken, your wiring harness should look similar to this. Lets move on to the reverse polarity issue.

So now we get to the issue of the reverse polarity plug. This plug comes with all kits and is designed to reverse the polarity of the power that is sent to the ballast. Keep in mind that most cars do not need to use this plug. The design of this plug was primarily for cars that are hard wired in reverse to the Kaixen kit. Again, most cars do not need to use this plug.
***The issue with customer with the 05 WRX using a 9005 hid kit for their high beam follows the same logic as the 9006 kit listed above.

I hope this post has helped clarify any issues of whether or not the Kaixen kit is actually “plug and play.” I suppose its not up the vendor to decide the ease of installation, but rather it is up to you the consumers. So please, let us know what you think!

How is quality of the HID kits comparing with the kits from http://www.hidynamic.com?

I heard their kits are made in Korea too like yours.

hondaren: for you.

My friend bought a kit from you personally from hidynamic, you have yet to give him a warranty, nor do you answer any of his phone calls. Don't come here to advertise your products without paying sponsor fees. if you don't get out of here, i'm reporting you to admin for both selling without sponsor title and also giving shitty products with shitty warrnties

for hidynamic.com!

I'm not affiliated with HIDdynamics. The kits are far superior to the kits on hidynamic.com. Just because they're korean made does not mean they are the same quality. These kits are made by kaixen and not hidynamics. If you buy a kit from me, you will get your warranty unlinke hidynamics. I personally have this kit on my scion xB and they work great! If you have any other questions or concerns pleaes don't hesitate to ask! Thank you.

wow, the yellow looks really good
but why are they so much more than the other color temps?
and how are these bulbs made? are they actually a hight temp, but just has a filter to show the yellow?
or are they actual 3500K bulbs?

The reason these bulbs cost more is because the yellow coating is done in japan, and the manufacturer charges more for this type of bulb. Also, the bulb is an actual 3500k bulb.

The old kits use to have the ignitor built into the ballast, but all the new kits we sell as of today have an external ignitor and ballast.

thats too bad, cuz seems to me its a downgrade with the older style of HID ballest, cuz almost all of the new kits from other brand are coming out with the new built in ignators.
