Default My ECU is toasted.

A short circuit lashed my OBDIIA ( 99 ITR USDM) and toasted it . On low RPMs , the engine hesitates once in a while. Borrowed my buddies ECU and the problem was gone. So it must be the ECU.

Now I need an ECU.

What u guys suggest.
I was thinking Either Mugen/spoon/ Comptech stand alones . OR

Hondata S200/ AEM EMS / Power FC/ ....

Also If u guys any place that sells the part with good price, Please hook the brother up.

Cheers

S-S-S-S-S-SUrrrch.....

Well if you are looking for opinions....can you at least provide a budget and expectations/returns on investment?

What future mods do you have planned? Do you know any tuners knowledegable enough to work the keys on these units you've proposed?....etc...etc...etc....

Talk with Tony The Tiger as he is in your area.....

I personally like crome.... I think that's searchable....

Your search for crome returned 43 results.

If you are doing that rebuild.... you definately want something programmable....and not static like a Mugen or Spoon ecu/program.

I have a USDM P73 from a 98 ITR (OBDIIA) that I want to get rid of. I'll sell it to you for $165 shipped. Carve126@aol.com

have you removed the lid? examined all circuits? i'm sure damage from short circuit would be visible.. what has caused this in the first place?

it is probably a bad capacitator something that only cost a few bucks.
Buy that **** and have an electronic store replace it.
I highly DOUBT you busted the entire ecu, its usually small parts on the circuit board caused by faulty wiring of a vafc, or some other component.
I've changed many ecus on dsms, that capacitators always go bad on
just buy it and fix it
no need to spend another 200

you telling everyone to search in ever last thread is pointless and not needed, once it has been made and you leave a dumb comment about searching its not like he can jsut go and delete it, might as well answer the question if you know the answer...

Thanks for the comments and No, I don't want to get another USDM ECU as I have a few mods and the motor is going under some changes next month soI rather get a tunable ECU like AEM or Hondata.

However I will check the Circuitry for the ecu but if I had a diagram for it , I could check it precisly.
