What is the different between b16a 1st generation, 2nd, 3rd, and the Si 2000.?
I trying to purchase a B16a from a friend of mine, the thing is i don't know what is the different from a b16a from 1st to Si 2000. Cause i have a Si 2000. and i would like to change the engine. The thing i saw on the engine that my friend have is the black plate on top of the intake manifold. What is that? I didn't got to read whats in it. But my Si has no black plate on top. I just want to know is this same engine like my Si? Please help. The engine is worth 1K w/ tranny.

The one that is in your Si is the best one to have (power wise). All of the different generations of the b16a just have different characteristics in them from how they are tuned to what power the put out. I don't know the exact numbers off the top of my head, but stick with what is in your car currently unlees you want to take away power.
If you are talking about USDM B16's, then just keep yours. B16a was available in some early integra's (I believe) if at all in the U.S. B16a2 is what you have. It was available in the '99-'00 Civic Si. The B16a3 was in the Del Sol. They all have the same characteristics.
The JDM B16 has different characteristics. It has a higher c/r and some of the parts are a little different. All of the U.S. versions are the same.

B16 was never offered in an integra in The US. You have an EM1 (99-00 Si) so that has the b16a2 w/ 160hp, it is also obd2(b) being from 99-00.
The original b16a from Japan market is obd0 and 160hp/111tq.
b16a from 91-94 (I think, since japan is one year earlier than US) has 170hp/113tq and obd1.

actually i do have a mess-up cylinder head. it was a factory default, i didnt discover it not until the warranty run out. so its to late for the dealer to take it back. so i dont know what to do w/ this engine. my budget is 1500. so any suggestion.
thanks
thanks
you could run a b18b of an integra, with your tranny and it will be alot of fun, and fast but not very great for gas economy. Top Speed will be lower, but as long as your not running 110 all day your all good.
