New toy. SMS header & shorty exhaust
Well, Dave showed up to the track sunday morning as promised with the completed header and exhaust
It took quite a while to get it on as we had a few minor issues that had to be dealt with, and we were under a time crunch.
Major kudos to Dave though. I took it out, and it was REALLY obvious there was more power. I'm banging off the rev limiter way earlier than I'm used to. This is most evident just after the flat esses and heading towards the uphill esses. I'm banging all over the 4th gear rev limiter by the bridge. YAHOOO!!! That is smokin! Of course, it also made the uphill esses, ummm... very exciting...
I'm not sure how it sounds from the outside because I wear earplugs, and, well, obviously, I'm inside the car. The inside of the car resonates like mad, but it's because of the shorty exhaust. It's just a Magnaflow resonator off the header, and then it turns down near the end of the exhaust tunnel. Basically, it's a straight pipe.
Anyhow, I'm VERY impressed with the product, and the results of the product. Anyone that wants an up close and personal look at it can come by my car at VIR next weekend. I'm also instructing, and I will have a passenger's seat. So for a lucky few, I can take you out for a few laps. Please refrain from puking until after the ride is over.

Is someone going to be bringing a digital camera? If so, we can take a short clip of it going down the front straight. I'm sure it's earth shatteringly loud. My feet get a nice massage from the vibrating floorboard.
I wouldn't dare drive the car w/o earplugs. The damn thing is so loud on the inside because of the way I have the exhaust setup. If you want to run Dave's header on the street, he will hook you up with an exhaust that will be anything from mild to wild depending on your tastes.

I can imagine how it sounds. I used to have a side-pipe on my CRX.
JDM 4-1 to a 2.5" flange, and a big piece of 2.5" pipe with no muffler. No resonator. Just a big *** pipe w/ a 90 degree turn. LOUD!!
