Yeah do this, when my alternator went, i noticed that my dash lights were extremely dim, and when i used my windsheild wipers on the fastest speed, that would just crawl across the window.
Your alternator doesn't kick in til about 1k on the tach, and when i would start mine, and it would fall below 1k, my battery light would flicker on/off until i gave it gas, but i decided to drive it, and it died on me on the freeway, so i go to use my turn signals, no power, so ofcourse they dont work.
So, im thinking to myself, well i need to signal, so i go to roll down my windows, oh wait, all teg's have power window's, lol, i owned myself.
No but seriously, do what Deep suggested

hmm good suggestions.. im gonna take a look at that right now. the battery is like a month old. my negative terminal connection on my battery isnt tight. my dad said that isnt good, but i dont think that would cause this to happen. ill try the + terminal trick now.

okay i did the test, i had my key in the two position and unplugged the + terminal of the battery and the car turned off. this means my alternator is dead??? car started up alright though.
sounds like the alternator then. I assume your battery drained out, so you charged it, but when you run your car the battery light still stays on? You can also take your car to kragens or something and they can test it for your or you can do it yourself by tapping it with a multimeter.
if you unplugged the + terminal and it dies...then its either yer alternator or some wiring problems. take the alternator to advance or discount. they can test it for ya for free. then youll know. if its bad that its the problem, if its fine that its wires. prolly not the wires though unlesss they are held together with tape and glue. hehe
did i do the test right though or was i supposed to start the car before i unplugged the terminal? i only had it in the two position. i tried some other test someone said. with my car off the meter said 12 and with it on it said close to 14. i think thats the way its supposed to be? i guess ill go test it. thx for the help so far.
most important thing id like to kno: it's DEFINITELY either the alternator or the wires connected to it, right?
