Default Another HAMP small filter question

I bought two of these and recieved them today. I was surprised at how small they were and thought that they looked a little too small and so checked the part number (H1540-PFB-004) on the net, and in some forums (prelude) I read where this filter was designed for the honda beat/acty and a few other small engined cars in japan. I also read on the J's Racing website where the PFB-004 is the filter that they sell and obviously recommend too. So what do i do? I have emailed the seller and he claims its the correct one and he uses them on his ITR track car without problem (but he would say that) so do i insist on the PLC-004 or just use them?????
BTW I have searched and read through every thread relating to hamp filters and ITRs and didnt find the answer

One reason why I use the Mobil1 oil filter or the pos they hand me at the dealer... A lot less confusing.

Not too sure.. would need a pic Currently I'm using the big ones..What I really dislike about hamps is..I hand tighten my filters, and always no matter what I have to use a tool to get the filter off.. never used to happen when I was rockin stp :/

heres a picture of one of them...its 2.5" tall which in my opinion is just way too small!

And to put it in perspective...the phone is a nokia 6230 which isnt exactly the biggest phone in the world

I used one last year for 3 track days with no issues.

iirc the smaller filter promotes a slightly higher pressure. There was a post in here in the past that listed that as a side effect. But I don't have an oil pressure gauge yet so I cannot confirm this.

I got mine for free and used it.

I currently use the Purolator P1.

yup, and ditto got mine, used it for a bunch of track days, no problem. now back to honda oem, since they're cheaper and easier to get my hands on.

Can you use the s2k filter on ITR's? I got employee pricing from Honda on some s2k filters so I'm using it for now. I read on the accord forums that the s2k filter is better but didn't specify for which vehicles. btw the s2k filter is alot bigger than the original one on the itr. any insight?

Yes, it will fit on most Honda 4 cylinder motors.

I'm using a S2K filter on my CRX and I'm going to use a Insight filter when I get my B16 in and running. Basicly you can use any honda filter on any honda. the only downside i can see to a smaller filter is that it wont filter as good

Spoon Sports, Toda, Mugen, and Top Fuel ALL use the smaller filters for competition use. They have found that there is less pressure fluctuation at higher RPM with the smaller filters. I heard this straight from Isichima-san's mouth.

Eh. Common sense? Surface area of filtration material? Then again, at WOT, the bypass valve probably kicks open and not much is getting filtered at that point.

I tried to use only the large HAMP filters when I had my Hype R. Have a couple left over and I'm using them in the st00k now.

I have some pos accord (?) or something filter on my car now..... seems to work just fine. I have a whole bunch of various honda filters on the shelf, they all fit, they all work
