can i pass ref? (engine an paper work question)
rod through the block, the guy says that it's legit but he doesn't have papers...so if i buy the swap and an other block would i be able to ref it that way?

As long as the block matches the head, the ecu, and all the smog and obd equipment, youre golden. Most places that's all they want to know.
By the way, since ur in Fremont, it'll do you some good to research the ref's in the area before you pick one to go to. (Unless you already know this of course).... stay away from Evergreen, theyre horrible

Whenever I go in, which is usually once a week.
THey only check the engine code and what obd it's suppost to have along with all the smog stuff. No one really keeps track of engine serial numbers. Even the police don't check for receipts.

are you saying as long as it's not stolen then im all good?

Even if it is stolen, which I really hope it isn't, the smog ref wont care. Well he would care if you told him it was stolen but if not he wont even check.
