A better question would be why you only have reciepts for the short block!

The last time I bought a block at the junkyard I didn't get no receipt. No big deal.

It would be different if it was a B16 or a type R motor.

As long as the block matches the head, the ecu, and all the smog and obd equipment, youre golden. Most places that's all they want to know.

By the way, since ur in Fremont, it'll do you some good to research the ref's in the area before you pick one to go to. (Unless you already know this of course).... stay away from Evergreen, theyre horrible

Whenever I go in, which is usually once a week. THey only check the engine code and what obd it's suppost to have along with all the smog stuff. No one really keeps track of engine serial numbers. Even the police don't check for receipts.

Even if it is stolen, which I really hope it isn't, the smog ref wont care. Well he would care if you told him it was stolen but if not he wont even check.
