Default Suggestions needed for possible electrical problem

Due to over revving, my stock 91 civic hatchback seriously overheated to the point that the manifold was visibly red. We found that the timing belt had become loose possibly causing it not to start? Timing belt has been tightened and timing has since been advanced. On attempting to start the engine, it seems to turn over properly and without any noise or clanks that may indicate internal engine damage, but the engine will not start. Spark plugs are fine. What factors in the electrical system may be damaged due to overheating that may result in this problem? Or could something else be causing this?

Thanks for the help!

Did you check to make sure the timing belt didn't jump a tooth? I'm assuming you did when you tightened it.
