thinkin about buying a 5th gen lude....
Ok, i found a 97 lude for cheap in my area. The thing is, i've heard people say stay away from the 97s because it's the 1st year of that generation and people say those years have the most problems. is that true?
what are some common problems that they have that i need to look out for if i were to go over to see the car and check it out?
TIA

I have a 97 SH with 145kilometers and it is fine. I have had some minor issue like balljoints and wheel bearings, but I think that is just because it is getting to be older car.
As long as the car checks out fine (get a mechanic to look at it), im sure you will be okay.

They don't have the most problems. The ones that have the most problems are the Auto's...Those trannies suck, and break down on alot of people. Use the search function, cause you'll find alot of threads talking about it

Yeah i'm aware of the auto trannies in the ludes and how much they suck. my friend had an 01 with 57k miles and it was starting to go out.
the one i'm looking at is a 5sp.
So no common problems with the 97 models???
