who makes lightweight crank pulley of OEM diameter(not undedrive) for 6th gen 4 cyl
why bother? it may save you a pound. go new OEM if you want OEM size, then you get the proper harmonic balancer dampening as well...
i'm not sure if my stock crank pulley is damaged or installed improper, but it wobbles...how do i find out wether my pully is bent or improper installation? that is the only reason i'm shopping for a pulley, not to do it cuz i want to replace my perfectly working pulley, but cuz it might be messed up, and i may as well get a lightened version of oem diameter....but if there are no manufacturers that deal in those specs, i'm not going to get an underdrive piece, for obvious reasons, but will have to go with stock unit or try to reinstall the same pulley, trying to allign it better
BTW it'll save you a lot more than a pound

your stocker probably threw some rubber, if it's torqued down correctly I can't see how the crank pulley could possibly be installed wrong. the bolt pretty much presses the pulley into place.
why not get an underdrive crank pulley if you want a lighter one anyway?

that is the problem.....the mechanic(brother in law) that had the pulley reinstalled onto my new motor is a bit of a rookie...He overtightened my timing belt, managed to mess up my brand new out of the box brembo rotors...tightened my 2 piece header with only 2 bolts( lost the third, and said it did not matter)sure enough the header started to leak the following week...had to reinstall my new tokicos 3times(once he said they were wrong size.....he was wrong...had the top mounts rip from overtightening the second time around) so i'm not sure if he even installed the pulley properly. And it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY THE CRANK ITSELF IS BENT...LOL so i've figured it had to be:
a) bent pulley(from hitting it with a hammer)
b) improper install...
c) combination of the two
About underdriving in general....i've heard too many bad things about underdrive pulleys, ie.lights dimming while stopped....harder to turn while in place...battery drain, among other things. but if I had to replace the pulley, i might as well get an aftermarket one(stock from the dealer is around 80$+tax)
p.s. what do you mean by "throwing rubber"? break?

why the hell was it hit with a hammer??? here's a hammer:
keep that guy the hell away from your car.
if the stock rubber harmonic dampener on the pulley decides to crap out it will sometimes come apart in pieces due to the rotational inertia of the pulley. those pieces will come flying off the pulley. hence, throwing rubber.
your pulley is probably warped due to the hammer. it really can't be installed wrong IMO

yeah....he is cut out....I had to redo my brakes, header, and now pulley, but i'd MUCH rather pay for it again somewhere else, then his dumb *** touching my car. he is telling me to bring it back to his shop, so he could do it for free........RIGHT...........
PS. can you just buy the harmonic dampener from the dealer, without buing the whole pulley?, or should i just go with a whole new setup?
