Im in the market for a BOV, and i was wondering what peoples opinions are. Right now i have a Blitz BOV. And its ok but a little quite for my liking.

I love that sound of the RFL. If i get one of those am i going to have to weld it on or what? right now my blitz is held on by its flange that has two bolts.

I like my RFL. It comes with a steel and aluminum adaptor that needs to be welded, or if you're ghetto like me, JB welded

 

hmmm. I'm not sure how'd you'd go about getting an RFL on there. The BOV comes with flanges in different materials to be welded on, but i don't know what to do about existing flanges cause you either tap it off or get a new piece of pipe for that section

 

If you already have a flange welded on your charge pipe you could just buy a bare flange that fits the one you already have and weld the RFL adapter onto it. That way you could switch back or switch to another BOV in the future if you want.

I have the RFL too, it gets the job done. I got mine for $100 and I didn't feel like spending an extra $100 on the Tial just for the sound.

Unless you are running super high boost, most blow off valves will get the job done fine. If you are running really high boost the Tial will probably work better because it vents 360 degrees.

I don't like the sound of Greddy blow off valves, but I do like HKS. But again, I wasn't willing to pay extra just for a different sound.

Now where would i get a bare flange?

 

i have the greddy type r. i head this is made for higher boost and i was only runing 12lbs. i dont know if it was the way it was positioned, of if i wasnt boosting enough, but sounded like it was fluttering air. no woosh, or whistle. i would like to hear other sound clips of this bov.

rfl cheap? 100dollars? i thought that they where something like 190dollar? where do you guys buy it for 100dollar?

how much boost are you running? where is the bov located? im running between 12- 15 psi, and mines pointed towards the front transmission mount

 

The main thing you should be worrying about is picking a bov that is not annoying since it's your car and you're going to be the one listing to it everyday through every shift. If your just picking one to sound cool & showoff when your flying by people then Greddy Type S is the one.

I like my JDM Proof BOV, not too loud but sounds good, adjustable for high boost (on 10 psi I have almost no preload on the BOV just to get it to open) and it was cheap.

 

I replaced my turbonetics bov with a Turbo XS-RFL. I loved it

Actually, if you buy the TurboXS TypeH-Greddy adapter you can drill it to fit the blitz flange. That's what I did on mine and it worked fine.

 

Tial baby... HUGE valve and great sound :-)

1st gen DSM. It was cheap and gets the job done. If you know anyone with a DSM, they tend to have a few laying around.
