WTF!!! More Codes
i have a xsi swap. second gen b16 obd1. ever since my swap (about a year ago) i have had cel code 14, idle air control. i didn't fix it right away because i had other things to spend money on and a low idle really didn't bother me.
so yesterday i changed the iac and i still have the code i also now have code 8, top dead center/base timing. also my idle is now around 200 rpms.
i checked the hasport obd1 conversion harness and it's pinned correctly, the only problem i can think of is the ecu.
the ecu is a pw0 that must have been reprogrammed. written in marker on it's case it says ef-9, the date on the side says it was made in 89. for it to be obd1 it would have had to be reprogrammed, and when i received the swap the top part of the ecu case was on backwards, another sign it had been modified.
could the ecu be the prob? what ecu should i run? p-30 or p-28, any help would be greatly appreciated.

before changing ur iacv u should have checked the wiring...if u replaced the iacv with a known working one and ur cel 14 still came on then it is most definitely a wiring issue...
as for the code 8....check to make sure that ur motor is at tdc when its suppossed to be...first line up the white mark on ur crank pulley with the white line on ur timing cover...after u have checked that...make sure that the marks on ur cam gears are aligned...if it is incorrect fix it...once u have corrected it, remove the hazard fuse under the hood for 10-15 seconds to reset ur ecu...start the car up and u should be fine...keep us posted and we will try to help u as best we can
