So thanks to the people who gave some help with my wheel problem. I just have a few more questions. OK so i have a 93 eg6 hatch, with 17" axis wheels. 205/40 rubber, and it is lowered 1.7-ish inches. I am getting VERY bad rubbing on the lips of the rear wheel wells, and some rubbing on the front. I Was considering going to coil overs instead of springs but I think that i will get the same problem again if my car is either too low, or is there is too much wieght in it. Can i get the wheels machined so they snug in tighter?--although they're already fairly tight up with the control arms. What exactly IS offset? I think the place that installed them said it is a 45 offset. Should i get the fenders flared? or rolled? raise the car? I cannot take back OR exchange the wheels which really sucks. Has anyone else with an eg6 had this same problem?
Can't drive my car more than 20 km/h. Holding up traffic.
Oh yeah, also i was considering removing the weather stripping in thr wheels wells BUT i dont think it will make enough diferenece plus i'm afriad to damage the tires, but more importantly my brand new paint job....

a pro should be able to roll the fenders fine without messing your paint...

removing the weather stripping would allow more tire movement but only once the fenders are flared

and i believe the offset is how far out the tires are from the hub?

You can take out the rubber piece off the fender and grind that small part down to be smooth if thats the case. That is what I did with my car and it rides perfect and no paint was scratched, just be careful. Make sure you have good name tires also.
