Default Bastard Idle!>?????????

I have a floating idle, checked IACV, FITV, Idle Screw, no vac leaks! When i start the car (CRX w/ B16) it car goes to high idle and after a few, starts to come down. Then all of a sudden the idle goes up then down and so on!!! looking for other things it could be! If you have an idea post it!! Thanx, Damien

Ahhh, I remember something that happened on mine also that caused that problem. My engine coolant temperature sensor was bad and caused the engine to surge...but it threw a light that tipped me on where to look. Is your check engine on?

i had the same problem with my eg......that's annoying as fu%k.
i ended up just replacing my whole throttle body assembly and map sensor. just swap it out and see if you could just borrow someones just to test if it'll get rid or the problem.

good luck with it.

Ive had the same thing happen to me several times, and each time was something different, alot of people miss this one, If yopu have a throttle body heater(it would be directly under the t/b) if you by pass it or if your still using it, and the valve inside of it goes bad, it will Idle F*ck3d up, because it will try to warm up the car and then the ecu will tell the car that its warm and that process will loop. To test if its that, take your intake off and you should see to holes on the t/b, plug the bottom 1 with you finger or something, if it idles normal, then thats your problem. To fix it just take the t/b heater off and make a plate or something to plug it up.
