I was on the 5zigen website and i cant seem to find a catback system for my 89 crx....which system of 5zigen exhausts will fit on my car....and if i order it for an 88-91 civic...will it fit? although i would much rather buy it for my car so if anyone knows the part # or the system that fits...that would be great.

it will fit but it may be a little bit longer than normal crx piping.....but it should fit....(i would reccomend rs*r ex-mag )

Never heard of it. but i know the 5zigen makes a few different exhaust which one is meant for my car? they have fireball, pro racer, border and team 5zigen....

they make a 5zigen fireball catback. for the 88-91 civic
it is pretty much straight back and exits out the usa passenger side. very minimal bends.
ive seen it at a local shop. any shop that carries the 5zigen stuff can get it.

 

For the CRX, 5zigen only makes an axle-back. I paid ~200$ + ship for mine. Bought it from some retailer in Japan. It is loud, but I get lots of compliments about how aggressive it sounds (no buzzing at WOT). I would recommend keeping a cat/resonator with it. I have both a stock cat, and brand new stock midpipe (a little bigger, around 2inches) w/ resonator, and it is pretty darn loud. It's not very bothersome on the highway at cruising speed, but then again, I always have the music realy loud. Also, the fireball comes out the passenger side. MAD JDM YO! lol

How does it sound. I have heard awsome things about the 5zigen. I want no tin can sound. I hate buzzing

exmag is like a deep and real quiet.....there is no buzzing either.

 

I had a friend with the fireball on an EG hatch with a b18c5 and I thought it sounded like crap. It was the most raspy bumble bee can I had ever heard. Not sure if he had a gutted cat but I know for positive it was the fireball axle back. Seems like all exhausts with a tip pointed like that seem raspy
If I knew where to find an exmag for under 500 i would get it, I would also suggest and hks sport

 

had one on my crx, its raspy as ****. i hated it. thats why i sold it.

 

dont do it!! i have it and it sounds like ****, get rsr or something else.

 

I like my GReddy SP2 no noise, no rasp, just nice clean tones. I would highly recommend getting one my bro-in-law and I both have them and are very satisified.

 

i dont understand why people buy catbacks. u can go out an get a custom exhaust done for half the price. if u wanted to save even more money u could buy a welder,piping,flanges, and muffler and do it urself.

 

greddy sp has my vote, unless noise doesn't bother u, then i say go with the BUDDY CLUB SPEC II

 

well i dont really care what i get. i have an ls/vtec swap in my crx and i just want a low sounding exhaust with absoultely no raspy sound to it. i know im dreaming but if anyone has a wave file or some **** of how there car sounds with a certain exhaust the would be awsome. but just a good idea of which direction to head is also helpfull....so i guess the idea is no 5zigen?

 

Just keep in mind, with any exhaust, if you run without a catalytic convertor or a resonator it gets very raspy.

 

what about with a high flow cat and rez?

 

I was (and still am) a big fan of the Fireball. It looks great and has a hollowed agressive sound. However, I love the exhaust on my CRX and glad it's on there:

JGT 500 Espelir 2.5” Stainless Steel Exhaust. It has a single resonator, mandrel piping, and a great sound to it. Even with a DC header and hollowed cat on a B-16, it is very suttle cruising around town. Vtec really pops through the exhaust and WOT sounds awesome as well. It's agressive and noticable, but still suttle enough to be completely overtaken by the sound of the intake at WOT. I can still hear the exhaust echo off of nearby buildings though.

I'm definitly glad the car came with the exhaust already on it, because I would have never known how bad *** this exhaust really is.

 

I have never heard of that exhaust and i want something that is not overwhelming loud....how loud is the rsr exmag cause im hearing alot of good things from this system....also how is its performance becuase i have an all motor ls/vtec and i dont want to put a restrictive system on it.
