Randomly INSANE good gas mi, but lean:(
I was in the middle of one of my trips from OH to WI when I noticed I was getting close to 400mi a tank. I had just put in a different uber chip so I thought it was the tune - so I put it back to the original one but same thing. I ran in open loop and it was even MORE lean! I can't figure this out... I've tried changing all my tunes by adding more fuel but it doesn't fix anything. i checked my plugs during the open loop section and they were al the same - a littel white dust on the tip, so I dont think its a single injector. Fuel pressure is around 50-55psi.
I DONT WANT TO RUN LEAN!!!! Help! Thanks

92 with JDM b16, str fuel rail, b&m fpr, built head, stock fuel pump. If i have OK fuel press the prob must not be the pump right?
Problem happened without a change in an OK uber program so i dont think the program is the prob. o2 sensor? injectors?

but at higher rpm, the stock ls fuel pump probably can't keep up...so if you are going 80 to 90mph at 5000 to 5500 rpm...your fuel pump might already begin having problems keeping up.
why not go with a 190lph walbro, (sponsor on here has it for $79), to be on the safe side...leaning out at higher rpm's suck.
have you also tried getting it dynoed with a wideband to see where exactly it's leaning out, might want to.

I think 190 is a safe bet up to 200whp, but many people have commented on this here in the integra forum so a quick search will probably get you some concensus

oh yea.. are those direct replacements? any custom work to be done on installation.. i migh thave a shop do it so they want to know..

I have yet to install one myself, but when I get one in couple weeks, I plan on doing the install myself, and I believe they are direct in tank replacements. They should be able to tell you when you order it.

well from what I read, it runs lean at high rpm, but otherwise functions normally, which would explain your white dusting on the tips of your spark plugs.

UPDATE!!!!!
Ok so I noticed today that magically my Fuel was at 70psi. No idea how it raised 20psi. I drove it with a wideband on... a/fs were rich around 12.5-13.6 good, because NOT lean. I put the FPR back to rougly 53 psi... and a/fs were high from 13.3 to 16.4 and higher under load. From the engine, if i revved it the fuel pres WOULD DROP about 5psi! Thats not right I dont think???
Still guessing fuel pump??? with the fuel pres in the 50s i did some street testing with my vafc and wideband. If i added about 17% fuel and floored it... the car would cut out and the a/f would go to 20s. I believe that means that its TRYING to run rich but fuel delivery is failing. All of this makes me think fuel pump still.. unless there is a probelm with my fuel pres gauge thats making it read high.

I don't think you want to mess with your tuning to compensate for a deficient fuel pump...it could lead to the car running from rich to lean and never just right...for $79 bucks, it's hard to not give the fuel pump a try.
Loook forward to seeing if the 190lph fuel pump correct this problem...hope it does, GL

what fuel pressure regulator r u running? if its a B&M one then that could be ur problem. i had a similiar problem with my B&M FPR. the pressure would drop when i revved the car (this is not supposed to happen. pressure should rise) i changed the FPR with a new one and the pressure went up when i gave it gas.
and y r u tuning the car with a VAFC if ur run n uberdata? tune it with uberdata!

i've been using the VAFC to monitor vacuum throttle rpm.. and plus when i'm on the road i can make quick changes to make sure its not dangerous. THIS IS TEMPORARY. I dont use the vafc for my real tuning.
I've never heard of problems with the B&M FPR. Is this true? i cant think of how i could install it wrong. At idle, the vacuum does lower the PSI.. so it must be working correclty.
FUelp pump should be in tonight.

nice...did you order the $79 walbro 190lph, or a different one...I'm going to be buying one of these soon, so I look forward to your feedback.

190 walbro. gotta say that the install is weird.. didn't know wires were in the tank.. in fact i still dont get it.. bu....
now i cant get my fuel psi to move from 62. any adjustment. BUT.. now it darts up a littel bit when revving (instead of down.) and when you add the vaccum line it decreaases about 1-2 psi. I have no idea whats up.
Other things... with theVAFC zerod... all low cam was fairly rich and good. BUT Vtec just leans out to 16:1 a few hundred RPMS into it.
Still when i add about 16% fuel wiht the VAFC and floor it.... it goes super lean and bogs.

damn man
did you get the 190HP or just the 190; the HP is suppose to be able to maintain longer.
Have you tried just tuning through the ecu with a wideband, and just chucking the vafc all together?

?? its 190 lph. Yea i'm gonna try uberdata tuning today... but that should have nothing to do with what my fuel psi is. (at least it not being adjustable).

the reason I ask is because there is a 190 lph and a 190HP lph, the HP is a higher pressure unit still rated at the 190lph.
