Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a 2.5" mendrel bent b-pipe for my '00 GS-R. The pipe should be identical to ITR b-piping.

Anyone know where I can buy one? I'm also looking for a 2.5" carsound cat (or even 3" if you guys think that that might be beneficial), so any info on that would be much appreciated too.

We get ours from Miami Muffler $150. kinda far for you, I know there has got to be a place local in CA

 

So you guys just get custom b-piping? Assembled out of u-bends?

I got a quote out here for 300+ just for b-piping! I figured I'd be better off buying the b-pipe from somewhere else.

Mike at IPS has the Type 1 b-pipe, its a great piece

 

Anybody know when hytech is releasing there twin loop? It was suppost to be the begining of this week.

hmmm, is it cheaper to purchase a prefab b-pipe or to get the local muffler shop to bend one for you?

 

I guess it depends. A lot of muffler shops don't do mendrel bends... and the ones that do have to weld u-bends together. The estimate that I got was pretty steep.. 300-350 for just the b-pipe. This is aluminized steel.

 

most muffler shops dont have a mandrel bennder. that is preium equipment and only (for the modt part) machine shops carry. if you want a custom b pipe, the shop will almost always take pre-mandrel bent pipes and fab up something that will be abkle to fit the original bends. i tried to contact THERMAL on this and they sent me to a custom muffler shop they deal with. they quoted me a price for a integra b pipe with welded pre-mandrel bent pipes at $700-800.

i talked to theguy for a long time and this is what he told me. i have the number if any one wants ti, or you could just call thermal and they will refer you. good luck. and if you find a place to do it let me know please cos im looking too!!

I got quoted 300-350 for just the b-pipe. This is with welded mendrel bends. The place is off of Capitol Expressway... right near 101.

 

hey CKIM, do you think you can email or post up what the name and the numnber is of this joint? i have been lookign and i have been getting some far out prices like i posted.

if and when you get this done, you have to make sure they use SS and that the welds are also done with SS solder. thanks man!!!!!!!!

 

Actually... this place won't do it with SS. I'm sure SS would be quite a bit more expensive. That quote was for aluminized steel. They're called Undercar Service Works and the number is 408-238-9425.

That seems a little steep for aluminized piping. Locally I got my old b-pipe made with mandrel bends for around 200.00. It was a welded together unit, but much less than the 300-350 you all are being quoted...

Except for it's 2.15" bottleneck at the cat flange.
