Default obd1 crx w/ gsr swap CODE 17 VSS

does anybody know the exact wire i need to run to give the ECU a VSS signal? its a p28.

i have a cable speedo and it works but my p28 is not getting a vss signal.

i know that i dont have to get the trans mounted VSS and a new cluster. the cluster generates the same signal as the tranny mounted one. i just need to get that signal to my ecu.

thanks.

On OBD0 is B2, on OBD1 its B10. If you made your own harness adapter, you just need to make that connection.

You said that you have a cable tranny?

With my LS cable tranny and GSR swap all I had to do was take out the speedo gear out of my DX tranny and plug it into my LS tranny. I believe the wiring is between the cluster and ECU. Nikitad did my custom engine harness though. But there is nothing going from the tranny or speedo gear to the ECU, so I assume it must be between the cluster and ECU.

Does your speedometer work? also what kind of cluster do you have and what kind of speedo gear are you using?

91 crx with complete gsr swap (cable to hydro conversion). it has a cable vss/speedo in it (which works). stock cluster.

so in theory its a stock vss setup with obd1.

Ok so is it the stock cable speedo or did you get the cable speedo from another car with cable speedo and try to install it? maybe you messed up the reinstall of the cable speedo? Does your speedometer work at all? also who did you engine harness and OBD conversion harness?

EDIT: if your speedo does work check the wiring going from your stock harness at pin B16 and I believe that should connect to pin B10 on your OBD 1 ECU or to your conversion harness if you have one.

so how is your ECU going to see how fast you are going? the speedometer is actually working?

Check the wiring going from your stock harness under the passenger footwell at pin B16 and I believe that should connect to pin B10 on your OBD 1 ECU or to your conversion harness if you have one.

pin B16 is the speed sensor on stock EF's
pin B10 is the VSS on OBD 1 cars

EDIT: BTW you said that the cable speedo works, you didn't say thatthe speedometer works. They are two different things, cable speedo is the thing that plugs into the tranny.
