take it back to the dealer and fix the grinding tranny....j/k
first thing i would do is exhaust and rims.

i wouldnot go jdm, cause first ofall, they really dont make jdm for the 05 yet, also it looks gay if its not jdm colors...if u have money go for either high comp rsx or low comp boosted, thatswhat i did, and i making it work...but what seen r u in..go or show?
not to pick, but it already said it was an 03. That being said, what do you want to do with the car? Drag, Auto-X? These make the difference, first thing though, is the basics, a intake, exhaust, and springs (at least for me, I've spent about 2k on just my suspension and don't regret a penny of it!).
Since it's a base, I wouldn't worry too much about the engine, if you really cared you would have gotten the Type-S, no offense meant there. I would go with the basics, then work the suspension and brakes. From there, have fun with rims and body kit, and other misc. stuff. Got for show, not go with this one.

honestly, i think dropping the car down is the best first modification. a good suspension setup will improve your handling dynamics dramatically, and tires will also improve handling.
with the k20a3 engine in the base model rsx, there's not much hope going NA. actually, i take that back. the k20a3 engine isn't the ideal engine for NA modification. it does not respond as well as the k20a2, k20a, or the k20z1 when modifications are made. however, k20a3's lower compression ratio is said to be beneficial when going the route of forced induction.
so for performance modifications, you can do bolt ons. try to look for raz's new k20a3 cams. from what i hear, they are pretty bad-***. personally, i do not find the a3 motor worth modifications unless you boost it. either that or swap the entire motor.
oh, by "making your car jdm" do you mean aesthetical enhancements/modifications? that totally depends on what you want with your car. do you want all show, no go, or vice versa? if you want a show car, go ahead and spend the money on looks. once again, i believe the best first modifications is a drop.
good luck and be safe

Wow, prime example of empathy right there
Suspension, intake, exhaust, wheels. If you still arent satified wait for the comptech charger coming out later this year.
If you wanna stay NA get the reflash. If you are gonna go FI later then dont, they will have to reflash your ecu back to stock and you'll lose 600 bucks. That or for 400 more upgrade to Kpro and tune it right with the FI

i seriously wouln't even try to make it fast at all unless you decide to go forced induction or nitrous. this is what i would do:
-nice suspension (get a hold of some JIC Magic or HKS coilovers)
-then nice rims (volk 57s would fit perfectly)
-JDM black housing headlights
-more suspension work (strut bars, sway bars, c-pillar bar, etc. etc.)
-JDM shizzle for rizzle.
im not trying to offend you, but unless your car is going to be turbo'd, supercharged, on the bottle or swapped, your car will not be fast. making a fast all motor A3 isn't happening just yet. i'm sure in about 2 years we will start seeing some wicked nice stuff, but not as of yet.
