Default Can headers be exposed without the headsheild?

I'm just wondering I took off my heat sheild off the stock header so now its exposed... I would think it would be much cooler is there any problem in doing this?

physically no, but without the heat sheild the stock header or manifold if you're not jdm is cast iron, and gives off lots of heat, so withouth the sheild it will further the heating of the engine bay, but answer is no it will not hurt anything

so u took the heat shield off and you think it should run cooler? the heat shield is there to keep the heat in and around the header.

I took my heat sheild and it made my fan stay on for 3 to 10 mins after the car was parked so I would leave it on like flip1199 said its' there to keep heat around the header

don't take it off unless you have an aftermarket header (which usually won't fit).
