Default 4th gen 17" wheel , tire sizes

Yes i have searched this topic for the last hour or so but i could not find the answer that im looking for. my question is, will a 215/45/17 fit on a 4th gen prelude without rubbing. the car is still on stock suspension and im looking for a little more width and height then the 205/40's that were on there. also has anyone had any experience with Capitol Negotiaor tires? i havea local guy that can get me a set of 215 45 17 capitols for pretty cheap and iw as wondering if they were any good. if not then i may just end up going with 215 40 17. any input will be appreciated. thanks

I had 215/45/17's on my old 92 Si. The car also had nuespeed sport springs, but the only rubbing i encountered was when i would turn sharp and brake hard.

I can't be 100% sure, but i doubt that you would rub at all with stock suspension. And about the tires, sorry, i havent heard anything about them. I stick with my Yokohama AVS ES100's and i love them.

I'm running 215/45/17's on a 17x7 wheel, on stock suspension. No rubbing. Discounttiredirect.com was offering free shipping a little while ago, not sure if the promotion is still running.

i've used both 215-45's and 215-40's... 17x7 37 offset. lowered on neuspeed race springs/koni yellows. the 45's rubbed a lil on the rear but i just trimmed the lil piece on the bumper.

as long as your offset isn't extremely low you'll be alright

I belive you are correct. Many people (namely those in areas with poor road conditions) go with the 45 series sidewall over the 40 series to gain a little more rim protection. I think the larger sidewal on the 45 equates to about a 3% difference in spedometer reading at highway speeds.
