Alright heres the deal, i got this car free from a friend - doesnt pass smog, runs on three clyinders (not a metro/geo motor in there either) and if i can get it to pass smog and sell it the moneys mine to keep.

The oil is leaking past the piston rings killing compression in one of the cylinders and thus wasting fuel and unable to pass smog - so my question is where can i get a rebuild kit, and has anyone bored out the cyls and put larger pistons in there?

I dont want to rebuild the engine only to find out i should have bored it out to ensure proper compression - so im asking you guys if you know of any thing out there.

the engines got about 185k on it, is 1.8L and carbed.

 

install a low miles japanese engine they come with 35-45k much cheaper then to overhaul engine

 

how much do they run and where do i look for one?

 

there are a lot available in california you might want to search on the net ,,,for an 85 accord i cant see being more than 450-500 dollars ....
