Default Oil leak problekm.

On my ITR it leaks oil a little bit by where the head and block meets by cly. 4 in the front of the motor and drips down by the engine code. Can anyone tell me why it would do this. And also my tach jumps around alot when it is floored in the higher rpms and it sputters alittle when the tach is bouncing around.

Bob

oh yea let me know if i need a rebuild

could be a headgasket, but i would check the cam seal first, the distributor seal

u checked around the cam seal too? or it could be from the vtec solenoid that bolts into the block that might be leaking

my car is leaking from that spot also, but its comming from the cam seal, im just too lazy to replace it

as long as it was a new headgasket and you torqued them correctly, it is highly unlikely for a headgasket to leak oil. If it is running down the trans side of the engine it is more than likely the cam plug or a distributor o-ring. As far as your tach jumping, put some dielectric grease on the spade connectors of the igniter. Sometimes the connections come loose so add the grease and squeeze the connector a little tighter and that should stop the tach jumping.

Something being wrong with your distributer would explain both your tach issue and the sputtering.
