Default b16 del sol all motor

ok im a newb but i been searchin the forums on all motor b16 setups and it seems like everyone is tryin to get over 200, i figured it wouldnt be that hard but everyone makes it seem like its a big task.. is it because the b16 isnt actually puttin out 160 stock or are all the aftermarket parts not gonna add as much hp as they say? (ex. the ecu said it would increase hp between 8 and 21) if its putting out 160 stock like it says and i have a chipped ecu, removed power steering, removed ac compressor, exhaust, aem intake, and dc headers how far away from 200 would i be? if this wouldnt touch 200hp what would yall sugest? i was thinkin eventually a port and polish, a completely upgraded valvetrain, new pistons, rods, and a block girdle.

Well first n foremost. There is no replacement for displacement and the b16 already has that against it. But it is very possible to pass the 200whp range with a very nice powerband(something you should be worrying more about instead of peakwhp). You should first get an Intake, some good headers and an exhasut and something to tune with once you have that you can start goin into internalls. YOu should raise the compression by installing some different pistons, you should get atleast PCT's or P30's with a thinner headgasket. and buy some arp rod bolts while your at it to. Your head is probably going to be of your main concern. Upgrading your valvetrain with aftermarket like Portflow,RM,Ferrea,Omnipower etc. and some aggressive cams like RM m22's,Skunk2 pro 1's,Buddy club 4's or Jun 3's etc. You should get at the very least a valvejob n bowl work for your head but if you have more money defintaly get more porting done, upgrade your intake mani aswell that along with some dynotime and your on your way to pass 200whp with a nice powerband to boot.

ok i have already done the following mods which is why i mentioned them: aem intake, apexi exhaust, removed ac compressor, removed power steering belt. I was gonna go ahead and get a chipped p30 ecu that came with 3 different chips a jun, a skunk2, and a spoon. and i was gonna get dc 4-1 headers. i was thinkin of getting a vtec controller because i really dont have the money for a hondata system.

What I think you are misunderstanding is that your b16 puts out 160 CRANK horsepower which is about 140 at the wheels, so when people say that getting 200 hp out of a stock displacement b16 takes some thinking, they mean 200 WHEEL horsepower which is about 230-235 crank horsepower. So to hit 200 whp you would need an increase of @ 70 crank hp. Just something to think about.

Ok well I've begun my massive buying spree and I'm not sure which to get or which will give me better performance untill i can afford the rest... intake manifold and headers next or intake manifold, new alternator pulley, new crank pulley, and new cam gears??
